Phlebitis is the swelling of the vein walls. It normally occurs in the veins of the legs and can be due to the complication of varicose veins.

The symptoms are redness and swelling in the veins, accelerated pulse, a slight fever, and pain in the affected area. A complication of this is the formation of a blood clot in the swollen vein, this problem can become serious.

The main causes are: childbirth, operations, and infections in the veins. Phlebitis can be prevented with a treatment similar to that of varicose veins.

Suggestion:Regular exercise and the intake of antioxidants reduces internal inflammation. In case there has been some type of injury, it is recommended to take Echinacea, Vit A, E, & C to prevent any infection. If the problem continues, consult your physician.
