Halitosis is an unpleasant smell of breath and mouth.
Causes: This may be caused by a lack of oral hygiene, an incorrect diet, and infections in the throat, nose, and gums or because of excessive smoking or drinking. In some cases diabetes causes this problem as well as the presence of some poison in the body like lead, arsenic or methane.
Most of the time bad breath is due to bad digestion, which causes putrefied material to remain in the stomach; this in turn produces gas which is expelled through the breath.
In addition to daily oral hygiene following is recommended: Fast for 1 to 3 days on orange juice, at the same time taking a soft laxative (fiber) – the intake of yogurt improves the intestinal flora. If you feel that your mouth odor is strong consult your dentist. Thyme and chlorophyll are excellent for digestion and good breath.
