Allergic dermatitis is a reaction of the skin to certain substances, plants, and products. Often it is confused with nervous dermatitis, which is caused by nervousness, stress etc.
It appears as an irritation with itching and sometimes with watery secretions on different parts of the skin and changes in color mainly around eyes, ears, arms, armpits, neck and the groin.
Causes: This allergy can be caused by foods, plants, household dust, cosmetics, perfumes, hair spray and deodorants or by contact with metals such as gold, silver or nickel. It is often confused with nervous dermatitis, which is caused by nervousness, stress, etc.
It is suggested to investigate what produced the allergy; stress, nervousness and emotional problems have a lot of influence on this illness. In either case, whether nervous or allergic dermatitis, it is suggested to take the same food supplements, the most important being hypoallergenic protein powder. Dr Henderson of California and Dr. James F. Balch, in his book Prescription for Nutritional Healing recommend Echinacea because it is highly anti-allergic product.
It is also suggested to include 2-4 tablets of Siberian Ginseng with Gingko Biloba: these help the brain in the control of the stress, which is the cause of some of these illnesses.
